A Seattle woman who last month fled Washington state with her 4-year-old son was arrested Wednesday in Cloverdale on suspicion of a child custody violation.

Alice Yoo, 42, is being held without bail in the Sonoma County Jail based on a $100,000 parental abduction warrant issued for her arrest, the CHP said in a news release. She is expected to be extradited back to Washington.

Yoo took her son from Seattle during an unsupervised visit 17 days ago, officials said. The boy’s father and other relatives had come to Northern California after suspecting she may have brought the child here.

On Wednesday morning the FBI alerted area law enforcement that it had traced Yoo’s cellphone to an area along Highway 128 outside Cloverdale.

About 10:15 a.m., CHP Officer Mike Phennicie spotted Yoo’s 2016 Winnebago entering southbound Highway 101 at Citrus Fair Boulevard. Phennicie stopped the vehicle and arrested Yoo.

The boy’s father later came to Cloverdale from Laytonville and took custody of the child.
