A body found last week north of Healdsburg was identified Wednesday as that of a missing Millbrae man who authorities believe was murdered.

Keith Green, 28, was last seen April 28 at a Millbrae restaurant. His cellphone was found the next day by a hiker in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies found Green’s body May 11 while searching for a homeless encampment in a field off Highway 101 near the Lytton Springs Road exit. Authorities said the body, which they didn’t publicly identify by gender, showed “clear signs of decomposition.”

Green was identified by his dental records. “An autopsy determined he was the victim of a homicide,” according to a press release from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said they would not divulge the cause or method of death. The press release said there are no suspects.

Bay Area news reports describe Green as a father of two young children. His family and friends had raised nearly $20,000 in reward money for his safe return.
