A Sonoma Valley man was arrested Friday after he beat his father unconsciousness, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Emanuel Mendoza-Maciel, 24, kicked and punched his father numerous times, briefly knocking the 54-year-old man unconscious, according to sheriff’s officials, who posted on Facebook a picture of the suspect handcuffed. They said Mendoza lashed out after his father confronted him about not getting a job or contributing around the house.

Mendoza was arrested on suspicion of several felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, battery with injury and criminal threats.
