President Obama, shades and all, got a rock star's welcome at San Francisco's trendy Twenty Five Lusk Thursday night, according to reports on social media.

His arrival at the SoMa New American techie favorite caught excited diners by surprise, their only clue was airport-style screening in the alley where the eatery is located.

"They said to my friend and me, 'There's a special event going on here and if you want to go in, you're going to have to be patted down and scanned,'" restaurant patron Alex Dwyer told SFGate.

Obama was in town to speak at Friday's seventh annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Stanford University.

Dwyer caught the eater-in-chief's arrival on the below video.
