Hot Couture owner hosts big sale of vintage costumes

Say, isn’t that the Joan of Arc costume you wore on Halloween of 1983?

There’s no telling what connoisseurs of costumes and rare apparel may find, or rediscover, at a most unusual rummage sale this weekend in Santa Rosa’s Railroad Square/West End neighborhood.

It’s hosted by Marta Koehne, owner of the Square’s Hot Couture vintage-clothes shop. Much of what she’s selling are costumes that were rented for decades by Suzanne McLellan at the nearby Disguise the Limit store.

Koehne bought McLellan’s collection of costumes, fabrics and vintage clothes, and she can’t store it all.

Her sale this weekend happens from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at Ninth and Wilson streets.
