Firefighters knock down Forestville garage fire

Forestville firefighters knocked down a garage fire early Thursday morning that threatened a two-story home on Trenton-Healdsburg Road, just north of River Road.

The fire was first reported at about 4 a.m. in a woodworking shop, according to emergency dispatchers.

Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to the home and the garage fire was contained by 5:19 a.m., officials said. No damage to the home was reported.

The flames spread to a woodland area behind the home, but were quickly contained, officials said. Fire crews from Graton, Windsor, Healdsburg, Rincon Valley and Cal Fire also responded to the scene.
