Police warn of used hypodermic needle dumped near Petaluma school
Petaluma police have issued a warning for pedestrians using a path behind Sonoma Mountain Elementary to be on the lookout for a used hypodermic syringe.
Police said they received a call Thursday about a “suspicious person” walking behind the school carrying a syringe. Police officers detained the person, but he no longer had the syringe, saying he dumped it near a bridge that crossed over a creek.
Officials said anyone finding the syringe should call the Petaluma Police Department at 778-4372.
