Body found at Point Reyes identified as Bay Area woman

A possible slaying victim found Thursday at Point Reyes National Seashore has been identified as an East Bay woman named Trisha Hopfe, 31.

Marin County detectives are hoping anyone who knows Hopfe or has information about her will call with information that might aid the investigation.

A hiker found Hopfe about 9:45 a.m. Thursday off Sir Francis Drake Bouvard near Platform Bridge Road inside the park boundary.

Investigators were conducting interviews with potential witnesses Friday but had not identified any suspects, Marin County Sheriff's Lt. Jamie Scardina said.

Hopfe was said to have ties to the East Bay, but apparently had no permanent address that authorities could provide.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call (415) 473-7265.
