Two men were injured in a crash on Scenic Avenue near Stony Point Road Monday afternoon when a suspected drunken driver failed to stop at a stop sign and smashed into an approaching vehicle.

Rafael Ochoa, 34, of Santa Rosa, was driving a green 1996 Volvo sedan west on Scenic Avenue when he hit a southbound 2009 Chevy Silverado truck on Stony Point Road driven by William Lukas, 34, of Redwood Valley north of Ukiah, said CHP Officer Kimberly Lemons.

The crash was at 2:32 p.m. A blood-alcohol test indicated Ochoa was drunk at the time of the crash, Lemons said.

Ochoa was thrown partly through the windshield and sustained moderate injuries, Lemons said. He was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Lukas had minor injuries.

Responding agencies include the CHP, the Santa Rosa Fire Department, the Rincon Valley Fire District and a Windsor firefighter.
