A 64-year-old Forestville woman died Tuesday night after crashing her car into a tree along a Windsor road, according to the CHP Wednesday.

The woman, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was the fourth person to die Tuesday in three Sonoma County vehicle crashes.

At about 8:30 p.m. she was driving south on Eastside Road, near Windsor River Road when her car drifted off of the lane and struck the tree, the CHP said.

The impact smashed the front passenger side of her 2008 Toyota Matrix, forcing the car into a spin.

Windsor and Healdsburg firefighters and a Bells ambulance responded, finding the car stopped in the northbound lane and the driver deceased.

Whether alcohol, drugs or a medical emergency were a factor remained part of the crash investigation, according to the CHP.

The road was closed for about two hours for the emergency response and crash review.

Tuesday morning, just minutes apart, two crashes killed three people. A Sebastopol man died after driving into a power pole off of Occidental Road near Jonive Road. In Jenner, two young Jenner sisters died in a crash off of Highway 1 into the Russian River.
