One person wounded in Santa Rosa shooting

Police Tuesday night were investigating a shooting earlier in the day at a park in northwest Santa Rosa off Peterson Lane.

The shooting occurred in the late afternoon or early evening at Pioneer Park at Peterson and Pinercrest Drive, said Sgt. Summer Black. One person went to the hospital with a gunshot wound that didn’t appear to be life threatening.

No arrests were made as of 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Early reports of multiple shots fired remained unconfirmed. Police continued to investigate exactly what took place and what prompted the violence, Black said.
