One dead in Santa Rosa crash

A Santa Rosa man was killed early Thursday when he crashed his minivan into a pole, police said.|

A 32-year-old Santa Rosa man was killed early Thursday when he crashed his minivan into a traffic pole, police said.

Victor Daniel Olivera-Pineda died at the scene of the 1:46 a.m. crash on West Third Street and Stony Point Road, Police Sgt. Summer Black said.

The man was northbound on Stony Point Road in a 2000 Plymouth Voyager when he left the roadway and crashed into a traffic light pole at the northeast corner of the intersection with West Third Street, Black said.

No other vehicles were involved. The exact cause remains under investigation, she said.
