Cal Fire lifts burn suspension for Sonoma County and 4 others
Cal Fire is lifting its burn permit suspension for Sonoma, Lake, Napa, Yolo and Colusa counties.
Beginning Monday, anyone with a permit to burn agricultural or other debris may proceed on permissible days.
The change comes as lower temperatures help reduce the threat of wildfire in the fifth year of drought. However, Cal Fire asks residents to continue using caution.
Only dry, natural materials such as leaves and tree trimmings may be burned. Items such as trash or painted wood cannot be burned.
Fires should be no more than 4 feet in diameter and height, surrounded by a 10-foot clearing.
An adult must be present during any burn. Burning on windy days is prohibited.
