Rohnert Park police arrested two men and were seeking a third in connection

with a drive-by shooting at a police detective's house.

Chad Miller, 30, is wanted on felony charges including shooting at an

inhabited dwelling, shooting from a moving vehicle, threats against a public

officer, discharge of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of

an assault pistol and possession of a silencer.

Police also were seeking his girlfriend, Parasato Farasati of Rohnert Park,

for questioning.

They believe they may be driving a black 1988 Mazda RX-7 with California

license plate 2GQZ968.

''We believe he may have fled to Humboldt County, but we don't know for

sure,'' Sgt. Don Wagner said Tuesday.

Detectives believe Miller was trying to send a message to two officers who

had been involved in a recent arrest and a search at his residence.

Wagner said an informant told Cotati police last week that Miller and

another man were involved in the shooting and also were prepared to fire at a

Cotati officer's home.

Police served three search warrants Friday at residences in Rohnert Park

and Cotati and seized the gun, a Tech 9 assault pistol, and a homemade

silencer believed used in the April 23 shooting at a Rohnert Park detective's

house.

On Monday, police arrested Erik Karr, 30, of Rohnert Park, who is believed

to have been driving the car in which Miller was a passenger, Wagner said.

''Karr admitted to his involvement in the shooting,'' he said.

The assault pistol, silencer and a sawed-off .308 rifle were seized at the

home of John Haun, 29, of Cotati.

Haun, a plumber, is believed to have manufactured the silencer using pipes

and steel wool. It was machined with threads so it could screw onto the

pistol.

Haun was arrested Friday and has been released on bail, Wagner said.
