A special team of CHP and state utilities officials ordered five tour buses bound for a local casino out of service Saturday after inspecting them while they were passing through Geyserville, according to the CHP.

During the tour bus operation, officers stopped buses that were on their way to the River Rock Casino on Highway 128, ordering drivers to drop off their passengers and come back for an inspection, the CHP said.

The team and specialists inspected a dozen buses in the area of Highway 128 and Remmel Road, finding a total of 17 violations, according to the CHP. Seven of the 12 drivers had log-book and hours-of-service violations, the CHP said.

The team included the Golden Gate Division CHP Commerical Operations Unit, the CHP Motor Carrier Unit and the California Public Utilities Commission.
