Man injured in apparent random stabbing at Lakeport park

Police are looking for three young women suspected of being involved in the Monday attack.|

Lakeport police are looking for three young women suspected of being involved in an apparent random stabbing of a 52-year-old man walking Monday night near Library Park.

The was walking near Library Park and Park Place restaurant at approximately 9:10 p.m. when he passed by three young white women, described as being about 18 years old, police said. One of them ran up behind him and stabbed him in his lower back, according to police.

The victim did not realize he’d been stabbed until he realized he was bleeding, police said. He described the subject who stabbed him as having black hair. One of the three subjects had a blanket around her shoulders, he told police.

The victim was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
