Eight-vehicle crash on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa slows traffic
An eight-car crash Thursday morning on southbound Highway 101 in Santa Rosa blocked lanes near a critical traffic juncture for more than an hour, causing major delays for drivers amid the morning commute.
The crash just north of the Highway 12 interchange closed all three lanes and caused traffic to use the shoulder to get by, according to the California Highway Patrol, which had advised drivers to avoid the area. Lanes were reported blocked at 8:29 a.m. and reopen at 9:35 a.m., according to emergency dispatch reports.
Two people were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, according to CHP Officer Jon Sloat. The crash caused a severe traffic backup through central and northern Santa Rosa.
