Wet roads may have contributed to three separate crashes on River Road north of Santa Rosa Friday morning, all within the same hour.

The most serious was when a pickup crashed into a tree on River Road, trapping the driver and shutting down the road as emergency crews worked to remove him.

The Ford Dakota was westbound on River Road around 7 a.m. when it went off the pavement and hit a tree on the north side of the road, about ?200 yards from Fulton Road.

CHP Officer Jon Sloat said it appeared the driver lost control on the wet road.

Both lanes were blocked for about an hour, and traffic had to be diverted to Olivet and Fulton roads.

CalFire, Rincon Valley, Santa Rosa fire departments also responded.

About a half-hour later, a collision between a Toyota Prius and a Honda was reported at River and Laughlin roads.

About 13 minutes later, the CHP reported a Ford SUV versus two unknown vehicles at River Road near Trenton-Healdsburg Road.

One vehicle went into a tree, and two others were on the right hand shoulder,.

CHP Sgt. Jason Balhman said none of the accidents involved life-threatening injuries, including several others that occurred on Mark West Springs Road Friday morning.
