Mendocino Coast head-on crash injures two

Both drivers were transported to Mendocino Coast District Hospital for treatment, police said.|

Two people were injured in a crash on Highway 1 in Mendocino County on Monday evening.

Roberto Gloria, 62, of Albion, suffered major injuries when his Volvo was struck head-on by a Honda Accord driven by Joshua Hoefer, 38, of Fort Bragg, according to the CHP.

Hoefer was entering a curve north of Albion at about 60 mph when he lost control of his car on the wet road, crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck Gloria’s vehicle, according to the CHP.

Hoefer was driving too fast for the road conditions, the CHP said.

Both men ware transported to the Mendocino Coast District Hospital for treatment, according to the CHP.
