Lake County man sentenced for 2015 bank robbery in Clearlake

A Lake County man was sentenced to more than five years in prison for a 2015 armed bank robbery, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Samuel Campbell, 26, pled guilty May 13, to a single count of armed bank robbery. In his plea agreement, Campbell admitted robbing the Bank of the West in Clearlake on the morning of July 8, 2015.

Holding what appeared to be a gun, Campbell took more than $3,000 in cash from the bank, as well as $120 from a bank customer.

His sentence was handed down Oct. 28 by U.S. District Judge Susan Illston.

In addition to serving time in prison, Campbell will also serve afive-year term of supervised release and pay restitution in the the amount of $3,137.
