HBO production starring Amy Adams seeking Mendocino County extras

Like Amy Adams? Here's your chance to work with her (sort of) as an extra in an upcoming drama she's shooting for HBO in Mendocino County.|

Wanted: aspiring Mendocino County actors to play background extras in an HBO production starring Amy Adams.

A casting call for 'men and woman of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities,' as well as children over the age of 6, to work as nonunion background extras is scheduled April 8 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center on School Street. Filming is scheduled for May.

'This is for those who dreamed of being a part of the movies and are looking for a taste of the Hollywood lifestyle,' Rich King, of Rich King Casting in Los Angeles, wrote in an email.

The production, part of a series, is being filmed in Redwood Valley, he said during a phone call. Details, including its title, are not being released at this time, King said.

Prospective extras should bring with them a current 3-by-5-inch photograph, a pen and a great attitude, King said. An estimated 500 to 1,000 extras will be needed during the filming, which is expected to last about a week, King said.

The pay rate is $84 for eight hours, with overtime begining after eight hours, he said. Those hired should be prepared to work for the entire day or night, King said. Meals are provided while working.
