Big rig crash blocks Healdsburg route

Asphalt spilled across Westside Road, west of Healdsburg, closing the road Monday.|

An overturned big rig dumped asphalt across Westside Road Monday morning, blocking the roadway west of Healdsburg, according to the CHP.

The 8:30 a.m. crash happened near a curve at West Dry Creek Road and involved the rig flipping onto its side, spilling the load. What caused the crash wasn’t initially available. No injuries were reported.

County road crews responded, as well as Healdsburg fire and a big rig tow truck. The road was expected to be closed until about 10:30 a.m.
