A collision early Monday near downtown Santa Rosa injured one and required a hazardous materials response and road closure, according to a Santa Rosa fire official.

The 7:50 a.m. crash at College Avenue and North Street involved an Industrial Carting debris box truck and a truck carrying a concrete pump. The concrete pump truck collided with the side of the larger vehicle, breaching the diesel fuel tank and hydraulic fluid line, causing about a 30-gallon spill, said Santa Rosa fire Battalion Chief Mark Basque. Santa Rosa firefighters were soaking up the spill, which got into a storm drain but not any waterway, Basque said.

The driver of the concrete pump truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. The other driver wasn't injured.

The crash closed North Street and backed up traffic in the area, Basque said. College Avenue remained open. He expected northbound North Street at College Avenue to be closed until about 9:30 a.m.
