A Lake County man has been sentenced to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman who was stranded by a flat tire alongside Highway 101 south of Hopland last year, the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office reported Wednesday.
Alex Joseph Greene, 36, of Kelseyville, stopped his Schwan’s food delivery truck when he saw the young woman, according to CHP reports at the time. The woman reported Greene changed the tire for her, then sexually assaulted her.
Greene was later arrested by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office while driving on Highway 101 near Geyserville and charged with assault with intent to rape.
In addition to prison time, Greene will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
