The CHP arrested a Healdsburg man suspected of drunken driving when he crashed Sunday evening on a remote road near Lake Sonoma.

Jonah Brem, 21, suffered major injuries and was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, said CHP Officer Jon Sloat. Officers arrested Brem but he was released to the hospital for medical treatment.

Brem and passenger Matthew Scott, 20, of Santa Rosa, had been driving on Rockpile Road near Liberty Glen campground when Brem lost control, made an unsafe turn movement, hit a fence and overturned a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, Sloat said.

The crash was reported about 6:30 p.m. Geyserville firefighters arrived first, 18 minutes after being dispatched, according to a dispatch log of the call. The passenger appeared to have minor injuries and Brem’s injuries included broken bones, Sloat said.

The Sonoma County sheriff’s helicopter transported Brem to the Santa Rosa hospital.
