More than $8,000 in jewelry stolen from Petaluma shop
Petaluma police are looking for three women who they say stole more than $8,000 worth of jewelry from a shop on July 12.
The three women were seen entering Novedades Mexico just before 1 p.m., and two of the women distracted the clerk while the third stole items from the showcase, a news release from the Petaluma Police Department said.
The first suspect is described as a heavy-set Hispanic woman with dyed blonde hair and dark roots. She was wearing a blue shirt at the time and carrying a large purse, dark in color with light handles and a floral design on the bottom corner.
The second suspect also was described as a heavy-set Hispanic woman. This woman, wearing a blue and white floral shirt, had dark hair.
The third suspect was also described as being heavy set, either white or Hispanic, with light-colored hair. She was wearing dark sunglasses, a green shirt and black pants.
