Petaluma police searching for man who burglarized office building
When a Petaluma office worker showed up to their communal work space downtown Thursday morning, they encountered a man actively burglarizing their building.
Now, police are looking for the suspect, described as being a black male adult of medium height, wearing gloves and with something covering his face.
According to a news release from the Petaluma Police Department, the office worker showed up to Work Petaluma, 10 Fourth St., about 5:30 a.m. only to find that someone had used a large metal object “similar to a street sewer cover” to smash a window and gain access to the building.
When the worker walked in and confronted him, the suspect said he had a firearm, but never brandished one, the news release said.
The man ran off, leaving the office worker uninjured.
But he took with him Apple computer equipment, the release said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Petaluma Police Department at 707-778-4372.
