Santa Rosa school greenhouse destroyed in blaze

A greenhouse at a northwest Santa Rosa elementary school was destroyed in a Friday night fire, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at Helen M. Lehman Elementary School, 1700 Jennings Ave., at 11:25 p.m., said Battalion Chief Matt Dahl.

The structure, about 300 square feet in size, was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived, Dahl said. The fire was extinguished with minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
