SAN FRANCISCO - A veteran San Francisco police officer has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

The San Francisco Police department announced Wednesday that it arrested 37-year-old Joshua Enea after a five month investigation. He was booked in Contra Costa County jail near his Antioch home. Jail records don't list whether he is represented by an attorney. San Francisco Police Officers Association president Martin Halloran didn't immediately return to a phone call.

The 10-year veteran has been placed on unpaid leave. Police spokeswoman Grace Gatpandan said Enea was removed from contact with the public when the internal affairs investigation was launched in February.
