Cyclist suffers major injury in Santa Rosa hit-and-run

A bicyclist was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a hit-and-run incident in north Santa Rosa.|

A bicyclist was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a hit-and-run incident in north Santa Rosa.

The cyclist, who was identified as a 25-year-old man, was struck by a car on Bicentennial Way between Mendocino Avenue and Highway 101, according to Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Mike Clark.

The crash was reported just before 5 p.m.

According to initial reports, the man suffered a major head injury and lost consciousness.

He was taken to the trauma center at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

No further information was available on his condition or the vehicle that struck him.
