Windsor backpack giveaway precedes larger Aug. 12 event in Santa Rosa

Volunteers on Saturday distributed dozens of backpacks filled with school supplies to children at the Windsor Town Green as part of Redwood Gospel Mission’s City Kids North County Back to School Festival. The event preceded an even larger back-to-school charitable giveaway next Saturday at Julliard Park in Santa Rosa, where up to 1,000 children are expected to receive backpacks, according to Jeff Gilman, the executive director of Redwood Gospel.
