A man was arrested in Los Angeles County Friday afternoon on suspicion of shooting a Clearlake woman in her Sharp Drive home the night before, officials said.

Marco Murillo, 22, was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail on a $3 million bond after fleeing to Southern California in the victim’s 2004 Toyota Camry following the 10:45 p.m. shooting, police said.

Murillo was known to the 48-year-old victim only as “Marco,” and police eventually identified him as Murillo after she gave them a photograph of the man, a news release from the Clearlake Police Department said.

He was arrested by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies after they spotted the victim’s stolen car and conducted a stakeout in the area, the release said.

Murillo was spotted shortly thereafter, and taken into custody while in possession of a handgun, which authorities suspect was the weapon he used on the Clearlake woman, the release said.

Police say he was also in possession of multiple other items believed to have been stolen from the woman’s home.

After the shooting, the woman was flown to a hospital outside of Lake County, police said. Her name and medical condition have not been released.
