CHP sergeant knocked off motorcycle on Hwy. 101 treated and released from hospital

A CHP sergeant knocked off his motorcycle Thursday while trying to avoid a vehicle changing lanes in front of him on Highway 101 was treated and released from the hospital for minor injuries.

Sgt. John Evans suffered cuts and scrapes on his arms, Officer Chris Mullins said. He said the sergeant also complained about pain throughout his body, but was released Thursday night from Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Evans was heading southbound on the freeway near Bicentennial Way in Santa Rosa when he tried to avoid the vehicle changing lanes. He collided with another vehicle, knocking him onto the pavement.

Mullins said no one has been cited in the accident.
