Man stabbed to death in Clearlake home

Police are searching for the assailant in a fatal stabbing early Saturday in a Clearlake home.|

A man who was stabbed in the neck early Saturday at a home in Clearlake died shortly after he was transported to a hospital, Clearlake police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 14000 block of Walnut Avenue about 12:30 a.m. and were led by witnesses to a small house where the victim was located, Detective Sgt. Martin Snyder said in a press release.

The man was pronounced dead by doctors at Adventist Health Saint Helena Clearlake Hospital.

Witnesses described the assailant as a 6-foot man with a muscular build, who was last seen walking west on Walnut Avenue, Snyder said.

The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of relatives.
