A burglar rummaged through a Santa Rosa woman’s home, including the bedroom where she was sleeping, and took several credit cards and her vehicle, police said Friday.

The burglar entered a home in the 2000 block of Creekfield Drive through a partially open window, Sgt. Marcus Sprague said in a press release.

The woman reported the crime at 7:10 a.m. Monday. Investigators worked with her to determine several businesses where the stolen credit cards had been used and subsequently identified a suspect on surveillance videos from the businesses, he said.

About 1:15 p.m. Monday, one of the businesses notified police that the suspect had returned. Officers arrested a man they discovered hiding in a nearby yard and found the woman’s vehicle and its keys in the area, Sprague said.

Anthony David Johns, 24, of Santa Rosa, identified by police as a norteño gang participant wanted for a parole violation, was arrested and booked at the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of burglary, identity theft, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, elder abuse, fraudulent use of an access card and a parole violation.
