TWO MOTORCYCLISTS DIE IN SEPARATE CRASHES
Two motorcyclists killed in separate accidents in Lake County on Saturday
were identified by the California Highway Patrol.
Mansur Balaei, 31, of Santa Rosa lost control of his motorcycle on Highway
175 near Lakeport and slammed into a guardrail. He was riding with the group
Bay Area Riders for Fun at about 1:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. He died
at the scene.
Bob Steiner, 62, was killed while trying to make an illegal pass on Highway
20 near Clearlake Oaks at 4:35 p.m. Saturday, according to the CHP. He drove
across double yellow lines and into oncoming traffic.
Steiner, from Nice, tried to avoid a head-on collision, but struck another

hospital.
Drugs or alcohol may have contributed to his accident, according to the
CHP. They are awaiting blood test results.
