Small earthquake strikes outside Santa Rosa amid day of fires
A minor earthquake shook Sonoma County outside Santa Rosa on Monday evening as the Tubbs Fire and other blazes continued to burn the North Coast.
The magnitude 2.9 quake struck about 8:16 p.m. and was centered about 3.7 miles west of Kentwood, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Emergency dispatchers were not aware of any significant damage.
