A new wildfire threatened several homes in the White Oak Drive area bordering Oakmont and Trione-Annadel State Park late Monday, Santa Rosa police said.

Flames began coming over a ridge from Annadel onto Oak Mesa Drive shortly after 11 p.m. , police said.

Most of the Oakmont area was evacuated earlier Monday due to rampant wildfires in the area and around Sonoma County, Sgt. Summer Black said. Authorities advised anyone remaining to promptly leave the area.

Firefighters were responding, Black said.
