In Santa Rosa, firestorm vigil planned for Old Courthouse Square

A vigil and community gathering is being organized for 7 p.m. Friday at Old Courthouse Square.

Organized by Santa Rosa resident owner Mandi Marrs, attendees are encouraged to come together for an evening of community and music, and bring flameless candles, glow sticks or flashlights.

There will be Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters on hand for speeches and poetry readings.

“It's going to be about positivity and moving forward,” said Marrs, whose home was spared in the blaze. “I was reading all the posts on the Facebook firestorm page, and I realized the community needed to get together and see each other face-to-face.”
