The American Red Cross will open a Client Service Center for residents impacted by the Pocket, Tubbs and Nuns fires today at the American Red Cross Santa Rosa Office, 5297 Aero Drive, Santa Rosa, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The center will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday.

The center offers affected families the chance to meet one-on-one with trained Red Cross caseworkers who will assess their disaster-caused needs, offer recovery information and referrals to other agencies, and provide some financial help to those who qualify. Please bring proof of pre-disaster address such as a utility bill or electric bill.

Red Cross volunteers will hand out cleaning and comfort items in the hardest-hit communities devastated by the Pocket, Tubbs, and Nuns fires. The items are free, and include water, snacks and cleanup items such as gloves, trash bags and dust masks. Red Cross volunteers also will hand out meals over the next few days in Sonoma County neighborhoods hardest-hit by the fires daily from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
