Four vehicles collided early Tuesday on a major Santa Rosa intersection, causing no major injuries but tying up morning commute traffic.
The 7:30 a.m. collision was on Santa Rosa Avenue near the Yolanda Avenue Highway 101 off ramp. A southbound Santa Rosa Avenue driver collided with a driver turning north onto the avenue from the highway off ramp, according to a Santa Rosa police report.
They crashed in the intersection and then one of those vehicles struck two others waiting for the northbound Santa Rosa Avenue light to change, Linscomb said.
Traffic backed up in the busy area. Police and Rincon Valley firefighters responded. None of the people involved had major injuries and no one was taken to a hospital.
Traffic officers were looking into the cause, Linscomb said.
About the same time, collisions on Highway 101 occurred near Fulton Road in northern Santa Rosa and near Steele Lane in central Santa Rosa, causing backups on the highway at the height of the commute.
