Petaluma police officers early Saturday arrested a 15-year-old boy who is suspected of breaking into a store with a beer bottle and stealing more than ?$1,000 worth of alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Officers went to the Fast and Easy Mart on Petaluma Boulevard North about 4:02 a.m. after receiving a report of a burglary from a passerby who noticed the store’s glass door was broken. In the parking lot of the business, officers found a teenager who they determined was involved in the burglary and had stolen merchandise, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

Officers learned later the teenage boy entered the store repeatedly and stole items after he allegedly broke a window open with a beer bottle.

Police did not release the suspect’s name because of his age, but he was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and taken to Sonoma County Juvenile Hall.
