A man killed in late November in a Potter Valley fire has been identified by the Mendocino County Coroner’s Office as a Lake County resident.

Jeris C. Aragon, 62, of Lucerne died Nov. 27 when the recreational vehicle he was staying in caught fire. The vehicle was parked off Westside Potter Valley Road.

Mendocino County sheriff’s Lt. Shannon Barney said Aragon had gone to visit his brother for the weekend and was using the RV. Potter Valley firefighters were called to the burning vehicle about 4:30 a.m. that Monday. Aragon’s body was found inside.

Investigators used dental records to identify Aragon. The cause remains under investigation, Barney said.
