A report of body parts scattered on Guerneville Road outside Santa Rosa Tuesday afternoon ended without a trip to the hospital or a call to the coroner.

A person phoned 911 to report the carnage by the Laguna Road intersection around 1 p.m.

What first responders found at the scene was an abandoned shoe near the double-yellow line, blood and entrails of what was likely a raccoon, and a homeless man taking an afternoon nap on the roadside.

The man was seen later speaking with a Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy before walking down Vine Hill Road.
