Memorial to be held Saturday for Ken Blackman, former Santa Rosa city manager

Ken Blackman, who served as Santa Rosa city manager from 1970 to 2000, will be remembered Saturday in a public memorial.|

A public celebration of the life of former Santa Rosa city manager Ken Blackman is scheduled from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the conference center that bears his name at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country hotel.

Blackman died at his Santa Rosa home on June 17 at the age of 82.

He served as the city's chief administrator from 1970 to 2000, a period of dramatic growth and change for the Sonoma County seat.
