The man died after slamming into tree off Highway 101 in Santa Rosa over the weekend.|

The 58-year-old Ukiah man who died Saturday in a Highway 101 wreck in Santa Rosa has been identified by the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office as Robert Nelson Myers Jr.

Myers went off the road while traveling south on Highway 101 by the Mendocino Avenue overcrossing and slammed into a tree around 4:30 p.m., CHP said.

He was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after, CHP said.
