Woman found dead in Bodega Bay

Sonoma County sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a woman found early Wednesday in Bodega Bay, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were called at 7:35 a.m. about a woman hanging from a tree. She was found in a secluded area of the 800 block of Highway 1 near Harbor View Way, according to initial reports.

Sheriff’s deputies, state park rangers, Bodega Bay firefighters and the Coroner’s Office responded. Detectives were investigating whether she’d committed suicide or if the death was suspicious.
