Scant details have been released about Sunday’s night’s Rohnert Park officer-involved shooting where an armed man was wounded.|

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office did not release any further information Tuesday surrounding the Rohnert Park officer-involved shooting Sunday night that left an armed man wounded in front of the police station.

The name of the suspect, his medical status, the number of shots fired, the name of the officer and whether he or she was wearing a body camera at the time of the shooting are still unknown.

Information will be released after the suspect is interviewed by detectives, said Sgt. Spencer Crum, sheriff’s spokesman, which could happen today.

Rohnert Park police first heard gunfire outside the station about 10:40 p.m. and found the man standing in the city plaza with a gun, police said in a press release Monday. “Kill me,” he asked officers according the release, “kill me.”

After an hour of speaking with a crisis negotiator he refused to drop his weapon and walked toward a police officer who fired, police officials said.
