Police are looking for others who may have had similar experiences.|

After a 12-year-old boy was followed by a gold Toyota Corolla Wednesday morning while walking down a Petaluma street, police are looking for people who have had similar experiences.

The boy noticed he was being followed by the older car, which rolled slowly 15 to 20 feet behind him as he walked east down McKenzie Avenue around 7 a.m., Petaluma police said in a statement.

When the boy stopped, the car also came to a stop, police said. He became scared and hid behind a parked car and the Corolla drove away.

The boy said he had been followed for around 1 to 3 minutes, but was not contacted by the driver and could not provide a description of the suspect because of the car’s tinted window, according to the statement.

Police did not find a crime had been committed, but called the incident “suspicious.” Anyone who has had a similar experience is asked to called Petaluma police at ?707-781-1206.
