Mendocino County man jailed for alleged assault on wife

Sheriff’s office says 30-year-old victim had ‘minor visible injuries’|

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his wife a day after Mendocino County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of domestic violence at a home east of the town of Mendocino, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

Noah Beard was apprehended without incident Friday morning at the home in the 42000 block of Comptche Ukiah Road. He was held at Mendocino County Jail on $25,000 bail for alleged felony domestic violence battery, sheriff’s Sgt. Joseph Comer said in a statement.

Deputies called to the home Thursday determined that Beard and his 30-year-old wife had been involved in an ongoing argument over several days, and that he had allegedly assaulted her on “multiple occasions,” Comer said.

The woman, who was not identified, had sustained “minor visible injuries” consistent with the alleged assaults, he said.
